Katherine Jaide Dunford (Kat) is a freelance artist located in Salt Lake City. On May 26, 2025 she made the decision to end her struggle with mental health on her own terms.

Her sister, McKenzie Soleil, will lovingly maintain and update this site in her memory. All proceeds from art sales will be directed to a dedicated account, with 100% of the funds donated to organizations supporting suicide awareness, mental health care, LGBTQ+ advocacy, and families affected by youth schizophrenia and psychosis.

From Kat: For Kat, art could mean many things. It means inner balance, outward expression, capacity for positive or negative social change, a show of appreciation, a journey into a problem, a discovery of a solution, a loud cry for attention, or even a secret that must never be shared with anybody.

According to Kat, art is so complicated that trying to define it is somewhat of a mute point. It is a being that one bears witness to, and in doing so you might even find that something bears witness to your being as well.  For Kat, art is an irreplaceable facet of life.
